IKI-Gov: gate the AI use case
before it ships.
IKI-Gov is the AI governance reference model introduced in Vladimir
Stantchev's Springer monograph. presidio-hardened-ikigov-assess
makes its checklist executable, and keeps the signed record that the
gate was passed.
The book
KI und IT-Governance / AI and IT Governance.
The monograph moves from classical IT governance to AI governance and assembles IKI-Gov from both. It is a reasoned synthesis and a working heuristic for orientation. It is not legal advice and not a conformity assessment.

The model
One lifecycle, six gates.
-
One lifecycle.
Context, Concept, Development, Release, Operation, Adaptation, Decommissioning. Every AI system passes the same seven phases.
-
Six domains.
The governance areas that surround the lifecycle, carried over from classical IT governance (COBIT, ITIL, ISO/IEC 38500) and extended for ethics, law, risk and data.
-
Six dimensions, M1–M6.
How the maturity of a use case is measured, so that two assessments of the same system can be compared.
-
Six gates, G0–G5.
A gate sits at each phase transition and opens only when the checklist items behind it are in place.
The tool
The checklist is executable.
presidio-hardened-ikigov-assess
(v0.29, MIT, on PyPI) scores the 25 checklist items from the book
and maps them to ISO/IEC 42001 and the EU AI Act, following the
book's orientation tables. Each gate decision produces a signed
record that says which use case, which gate, on what evidence, and
signed by whom. Gate certificates carry their parents and a
validity bound, so a third party can check them without running
the assessment engine.
Governance that lives in a policy fails its first audit.

Slides (PDF) →
The problem, the model, and what a signed gate record answers that a policy does not.
-
User manual (PDF) →
Install, run a first assessment, enforce a gate in CI, produce evidence packs, and map the result to a regulation.
-
Book compatibility →
Every command printed in the book's appendix runs unchanged; its worked example is pinned by the tool's tests.

Source, changelog, SECURITY.md, OpenSSF Scorecard and the OpenSSF Best Practices silver badge.
The gate certificates are also the IKI-Gov contribution to the Computational Jurisprudence programme.
Workshops and assessments
Running IKI-Gov in your organisation?
The AI-Ready workshop and assessment put IKI-Gov to work on your own use cases, with a signed gate record per use case that you own. Formats, prices and the next steps are on the AI-Ready page.
